Who are we?
Schutz fir d’Kand - Défense de l’enfant has been set up spontaneously by Luxembourg citizens and other Europeans living in Luxembourg.
On behalf of the best interests of children and wider society,
Schutz fir d’Kand - Défense de l’enfant aims to oppose the parliamentary bills nos.6172 and 6568 which propose to redefine marriage and open full adoption and access to assisted reproduction services and treatments to same sex couples. It calls for these proposals to be abandoned or to at least be put to a general referendum.
Schutz fir d’Kand - Défense de l’enfant notes the absence of any meaningful public discussion of the real issues associated with these proposals and so seeks to stimulate a public debate in keeping with a democracy.
Schutz fir d’Kand - Défense de l’enfant is non-confessional, apolitical and peaceful. It rejects and condemns all homophobia and it acts in a manner that accords proper respect to all persons, irrespective of their politics, philosophy, religion or sexual orientation.
